Honda of Lake Jackson Power Equipment is thrilled to announce that we are officially HUB certified. The Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program combats business inequality and works to secure equal opportunity for certified business owners within the State of Texas. Moreover, the HUB certification grants endless hope and prospect to small, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses. This program is essential to the local economy to support small and minority owned businesses in the community. Not only does it ensure a more equal playing field among companies, but it also propels minorities, women, and other disenfranchised groups forward. The State of Texas has recognized the importance of promoting equality within its business industry and has established the HUB program to lift up these individuals and repair incongruences within the community.

To be considered eligible for the HUB program, a business must be at least 51% owned by an Asian Pacific American, Black American, Hispanic American, Native American, or American woman. In addition to this, the minority owner must live in Texas and show genuine concern and active engagement in their company’s operations and management. Businesses eligible for the HUB certification apply to the Texas Controller of Public Accounts (CPA) by submitting an application and appropriate documentation regarding their credentials and owner demographics.
